Never Forget…

September 11, 2012 — 6 Comments

When 9/11/2001 rolled around, our country was shaken by a devastating sequence of events. We stayed glued to the television, soaking in every bit of information we could find. We read the newspaper like never before. We were devastated and at a loss for words. We were angry  and shouted it from the roof tops. When our president declared war, most of the nation rejoiced because we wanted to pay them back for what they had done to us. We flooded the churches, hungry for answers. More people attended church during that season in our history than was typical. People were hungry for answers, peace, faith, whatever they needed to get through this crisis that we faced. But now, 11 years later, we’ve forgotten. No, we haven’t forgotten what happened…stories like this keep reminding us of the tragedy that we faced that day…but we’ve forgotten how that tragic day affected us, how it brought us to our knees seeking God. I will never forget and I encourage you to never forget.

  1. What makes me sad is the number of people who were seeking God that day who don’t even want to consider seeking Him now. We need revival. Badly.

  2. “…how it brought us to our knees seeking God.”

    You are absolutely right.

One source reported that 88,000 flags were sold by Wal-Mart alone on September 11, 2001.
    The churches were full.

I watched a documentary just yesterday where a man said there is going to have to be another 9/11 because we have gotten too comfortable once again.

    How sad is that?

  3. How fast our memories fade… May God open the hearts and minds of our nation… May we confess our sins and may He heal our nation…
